NTR statue was unveiled in Parliament by Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar

NTR statue was unveiled in Parliament by Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar at a grand function attended by a galaxy of leaders cutting across party lines and the Nandamuri clan.  The 9.3 feet bronze statue was unveiled to a thundering applause and charged up emotions as old timers who worked with NTR, family members and leaders of various parties coming together to grace the occasion.  Led by Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh, his cabinet colleagues, L K Advani, Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj, Mulayam Singh Yadav, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu TDP MPs, Thanga Balu, Union Minister D Purandeswari were among those who attended the function.     Balakrishna went emotional at the event and hugged his elder sister Purandeswari, Jr NTR too made an appearance. Lakshmiparvathi also attended the function.  Sonia Gandhi, however, did not attend the function. TDP MPs took objection to her absence.
