Now, Taman travels a different route for Balupu within commercial cinema context and comes up with some real good numbers. Added bonus in Balupu is, Ravi Teja singing for the first time. 1 . The album starts off with 'Kajal Chelliva..", a high-energetic foot tapping in hero Ravi Teja and music director Taman’s voice. It is superior number. 2. Legendary singer S P Balasubramaniam has lent his voice to the melody - Yevaindho. With Balu on board and veteran lyricist Seetharamashastry penning the words, Taman has used his best talent to give a beautiful duet that reminds us the melodic quality of 80's Ilayaraja. 3 Lucky Lucky Rai is a mass item song. Typical song. We have heard it before it but might work on screen with Lakshmi Rai dancing for this. 4 'Padipoyaanila’ is again a good romantic number - peppy tune with good orchestration. Suchith Suresan and  Megha have carried it off well using Anantha Sriram's romantic lyrics. 5. Bollywood top singer Miika Singh sang Patikella Sundari with usual high pitch. This is a typical Taman mass number that would be liked by its target audiences. Miika Singh and Taman's regular lady singer Ranina sang together this duet that is penned by  Bhaskarabhatla. All in all, Balupu is different in Taman's repertoire and has songs that are easy to like. Taman has come up with songs that would help the film. Has mass numbers as well as a melody number. Right mix of songs. Best album in Ravi Teja's career in the recent times. Rating- 3.75/5 ...(More..)
