Ankur Arora Murder Case hindi movie review | rating| talk| preview

Producer : Vikram Bhatt
Director : Suhail Tatari
Music Director : Chirantan Bhatt
Cast: Kay Kay Menon, Pauli Dam

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt steps into his writer shoes, with this weeks release Ankur Arora Murder Case. Based on some real life incidents, this medical thriller is directed by Suhail Tatari and features Kay Kay Menon, Tisca Chopra and Pauli Dam in lead roles. The movie is set to hit the theaters this Friday, but we bring you an exclusive review well in advance. Let’s see how the film is.
Story:
Dr. Asthana (Kay Kay Menon), a Chief surgeon at the Shekhawat General Hospital is a self proclaimed doctor who claims himself as the best in the country. An eight year old boy, Ankur is admitted to the hospital by his mother Nandita (Tisca Chopra) over his continuous complaints of stomach ache. While being operated by Dr. Asthana, Ankur dies of a sillymedical negligence.
Hells breaks out loose and the hospital staff tries to hide the actual negligence from the world and Ankur’s mother. Romesh (Arjun Mathur) an intern in the hospital decides to fight against the cruel deed along with his colleague Nandita. Their side of the case is handed over to a lawyer named Kajori Sen (Paoli Dam).
Rest of the story is as to how Romesh fights against the corrupt people in his hospital and bring justice to the depressed Nandita who loses her son.
Positive Points:
Filmmaker Suhail Tatari, who has earlier been associated with a not-so-famous Summer Of 2007, has brought out the best from the cast. Speaking of performances, Kay Kay Menon, plays a rigid and conceited doctor with ease. Tisca Chopra looks believable as a mother of a murdered child.
Arjun Mathur is impressive and delivers a power-packed performance. Vishaka Singh is decent in her scenes. The hot and happening Pauli Dam of Hate Story, steals the show with her strong portrayal of a focused lawyer.
Negative Points:
Even though Kay Kay Menon delivers a firm performance, his acting gets monotonous after a while. His rigidness is too much to handle and does not look authentic. Vishaka, being a talented actress has been wasted completely. She has nothing to offer as she only cries all along the movie.
The first half of the film is so stretched out that it leaves no room for imagination. Even the second half is wrapped up hastily, keeping the audience weary and perplexed at the same time.
Technical Aspects:
Only a few songs in the film are jut about OK and do not fit anywhere in the plot. The makers could have gone without the songs completely. Cinematography is laudable as the camera, very effectively, covers the hospital and its surroundings. Editing is just about OK and the screenplay is plausible and up to the mark.
Dialogues are induced with too many medical terms, which may not get through the general audience easily. However, Vikram Bhatt’s attempt is admirable as he has undergone a lot ofresearch to understand and execute the medical terminology.
Verdict:
On the whole, Ankur Arora Murder Case is a story that delivers a strong social message, but fails in an attempt due to its poor execution. The movie may get tedious at a point but can be given a shot only for its strong and laudable performances.
